Nine schools, with more than 1000 children aged 6 - 15 walked six kilometres with six litres of water in their bright blue (and often decorated) Walk for Water 2017 backpacks; in order to gather a total amount of almost 40.000 euros! Using the equations that were used during the Max Foundation guest lectures at the school, this means that 40.000/8 = 5000 children will be educated about hygiene, receive clean drinking water, and are enabled to go to a proper toilet. Also, this means that 40.000/2500 = 16 schools can be provided with new and clean sanitation buildings, to make sure the children from the school can use a better toilet during school time. It has been amazing again to see the enthusiasm, the spirit and the will to help out others around the world from the participating children and school staff. Max Foundation thanks everyone again for their cooperation, and wishes to make Walk for Water 2018 a successfull event again. We hope to see you next year!
